The ICE YACHTS shipyard is on the market with a brand new product, the ICE 60GC, cruiser version. An even more easy sailing version of the already fast ICE 60, which winks at the owners looking for a performing boat suitable for fast cruises and extremely comfortable at the same time.

The ICE 60GC, developed directly by Umberto Felci’s studio, together with the shipyard’s technical staff, represents a real fast cruiser of the highest quality with an incredible exploitation of space, a beautiful line, and HIGHLY INNOVATIVE INTERIOR that place the guests in the foreground.

It came to life from the powerful lines of the ICE 60 standard, alongside a mix of contents taken from our 62 and 70. It succeeds in exalting the characteristics of robustness, seaworthiness, and performance that characterize the yard and brought international recognition.

Modern design: inverted sternpost (scimitar) with a carbon bowsprit 1.3 m long and stern in Volvo Open 70 style. It is the elder brother and the natural development of the ICE 52, another bestseller of Ice Yachts with over 15 units produced to date.

The hydrodynamic plan: water lines and appendages. This time is characterized by an unprecedented draft of 2.90 meters, designed to achieve outstanding performances, able to show impressive results that highlight the attitude of the ICE 60 to go up the wind at very tight angles and to surf extraordinarily fast to the bearing sailing points. The engine speed reaches and exceeds 10 knots of cruising speed!

These performances are further ensured by combining the high technologies employed in the construction and the incredibly highest quality performed by the craftsmanship of qualified technicians who gained their expertise throughout many years of dedication to the realization of boats that have signed the sailing history.

The shell and the deck are laminated in infusion from female mold using carbon fibers. The structures are in carbon, laminated in place, made in infusion as well, becoming one with the hull and deck, and removing creaks and noises. In addition to the classic gluing, the deck is striped to the hull as well as all the bulkheads, creating a monolithic and very rigid structure. Besides containing the weights, these choices provide the boat a solidity and strength able to withstand repeated stresses and heavy loads that are faced even in the most challenging navigation.

ICE 60GC is equipped with a fin realized in double Weldox steel with high mechanical characteristics and a lead torpedo milled with numerical control that offer the advantage to reduce the ballast’s weight and, therefore, the boat’s total displacement with the same righting moment. Thanks also to the increased bulb, it is possible to reduce in a very consistent way the heeling in navigation and the rolling when the boat settles in roadstead.

As a result, the boat guarantees great power in the sailing points in which is fundamental and minimum displacement in those in which represents a brake, such as the carrying gaits and motor navigation. All this allows maintaining very high standards in all conditions, both in racing and cruising, sailing, or motoring.

The rudder is studied and designed with cutting-edge technology that allows impressive control even when the boat is heeling or subjected to large aerodynamic loads. The theme of safety, central both in design and construction, represents a primary focus for ICE YACHTS.
The deck reflects Felci Yacht Design projects’ general lines, combining simplicity and style, elegance and efficiency, comfort and versatility.

The cockpit, characterized by large benches and comfortable paramare backrests, is definitely oversize and allows maximum mobility for large crews. In the aft area, there is a fabulous sundeck 3.4 meters wide!

At the stern, there is a removable aft bench of about 120 x 120 cm with two closing lids, one to cover a professional barbecue and a sink, while the other to cover a storage locker with access from above. When the hatches are closed, the bench is covered by cushions in water-repellent material. In order to facilitate the access from the deck to the bridge, there is a ladder fixed on the door that closes simultaneously with the closing of the door itself. The large garage, a record in its category and almost at the level of one of a 70 footer, is designed to contain an inflated tender of 3.1 meters! Two electric winches are provided within the garage for the opening of the hatch and the movement of the tender, offering comfortableness and simpleness.

Moreover, there are many details that highlight how the study of the bridge was conducted to aim for a synthesis between an ideal deck for a relaxed cruising life and that pregnant of marinity and efficiency, necessary during a long-range navigation or regatta.

The maxi dodger or the bimini to protect the helmsman are beautiful! These peculiarities are all dedicated to underline the focus of the ICE 60GC, the yacht’s main characteristic; comfort!

The hydraulic fairleads and an electric mooring winch at the bow represent some examples of this research. By following this same philosophy, the sail plan is characterized by a genoa without overlap, the absence of flying shrouds and the chain plates, made of carbon, positioned directly on the hull.

The length ft of the ICE 60GC is under 18 meters in order to allow access to the preferential rates that some marinas grant to boats of this size!

Thanks to the technologies applied for the realization of the interiors, such as the use of lightened panels, considerable weight savings compared to a traditional realization are obtained, without sacrificing the value of the woodworking, both in the refinement of finishes and in the excellence of the details. The interiors are foreseen in the 4 cabin version, with 3 bathrooms and a large open kitchen.

The standard carbon mast is equipped with a very comfortable electrically operated mainsail reel in the boom, which is extremely useful to further simplify things both in navigation and when preparing to reduce or lower the sails.

The first unit of ICE 60 Grand Comfort is currently under construction in the yard ICE YACHTS in Salvirola, near Crema, and the first boat will be in the water in May.
